I was born into a “Tarheel” family in eastern North Carolina. I attended church since I can remember and as I grew older began to develop a passion for music. I went to public schools and moved around a lot, never keeping the same group of friends for too long. My family finally planted on the Outer Banks of NC, on Roanoke Island. My love for music grew and I began to play in school ensembles and garage bands.

I graduated from Manteo High School in 1999 and began my college career at East Carolina University that fall. In May of 2003, I received a degree in Communications and followed the Lord’s leading to The Honor Academy in Garden Valley, Texas. There I was an intern working for the creative design / web design team for Teen Mania Ministries, helping design, build, and maintain multiple websites for the worldwide missions organization.
